FAQ

Will Cycle Club Caddy Fit My Motorcycle?
Cycle Club Caddy will fit many makes of motorcycles, either metric or US. What you need is a passenger back rest support system that has two (2) nuts and two (2) bolts situated in a vertical direction. The nuts should be on the inside of your passenger back support and should be no larger than 5/16". The distance between the two nuts and bolts should not be less than 1 1/4" and should not be more than 2". Your motorcycle should have standard foot pegs not larger in diameter than 1 3/8".

Do I Have To Carry Two Bags?
No, while the unit was designed to carry two bags and a passenger you can use only one bag. Remember that your golf bag weights between 22 & 30 lbs depending on how much you carry in your bag and that could affect how the motorcycle handles. As always whether using Cycle Club Caddy as it was intended; with two bags on your motorcycle, or one bag always exercise caution. You may want to take a test ride in the configuration you choose in non traffic conditions first.

What Is Cycle Club Caddy Made Of?
It is made of the finest American steel tubing, plate and box steel. During the testing phase every attempt was made to break the prototype with no success. It has some nicks and dents on it today, but it is still in tact and works very well.

Do I Need To Purchase Anything Else To Use Cycle Club Caddy?
No, Cycle Club Caddy comes with everything you need to attach it to your motorcycle, except cargo tie downs.

Do I Need To Use Cargo Tie Downs?
You need to use a securement system of some type. We prefer cargo tie downs as opposed to bungee cords as the cords have a tendency to stretch after time. We considered Velcro straps, however because of the varied type of cargo that can be carried on Cycle Club Caddy we felt the adjustability of cargo tie downs would better suite the wide variety of uses.

Can I Install Cycle Club Caddy?
A complete set of Installation Instructions is included and the average person can easily attach Cycle Club Caddy in less than 30 minutes. Care should be taken installing the rear cross member to be sure it is centered on the motorcycle. The tools needed are a wrench (you supply) that will fit the bolts that attach the passenger seat back rest and an Allen wrench which we supply. You may need a screw driver to hold the screws while loosening and tightening the nuts during installation.

Can I Use My Saddlebags?
You may be able to, if they are small soft bags. Cycle Club Caddy can be adjusted in width about 3 inches at the foot peg. If you have hard bags the chances are slim that you would be able to use them and have Cycle Club Caddy mounted. Remember Cycle Club Caddy is intended to accept most golf bags, no special bag to purchase. I use a tail pack which can carry about as much as many saddlebags.

How Fast Can I Travel With Cycle Club Caddy?
You should be able to cruise at posted highway speed limits with Cycle Club Caddy attached. We recommend you observe posted speed limits.

Should I Ride With The Rain Cover On My Bag?
It is not necessary. However, you may want to remove your club covers if you do not have the rain cover on. We recommend using the rain cover and use bungee cords to hold them on.

How Often Should I Check Connections On Cycle Club Caddy?
One can never be too careful. If you intend to leave the rear cross member on the motorcycle it would be good to check the bolts on the passenger seat back each time you connect the elongated side frames. You will also want to check the set screws to ensure they are tight. To date we've not found it necessary to adjust either the passenger support nuts or any of the set screws.

Will You Offer Cycle Club Caddy In Chrome In The Future?
Presently there is no plans to offer chrome. Chrome is difficult to match from one motorcycle to another. We believe that by offering Cycle Club Caddy in an unfinished condition those desiring chrome or another custom finish will be better able to match their desires.
